Another Birthday

Since Amy had a previous history of having Gestational Diabetes, her doctor wanted to schedule an induction today to ensure the baby was born before the due date. This morning we went in to the hospital and she got right to work. After the contractions started, they got intense fast! Amy dialated from a 6 to complete in about 15 minutes. Going into this labor, she wanted to experience natural labor. Although it was nearly more than she could bear, she gave birth to Reuben Scott Harward after only 4 pushes. It happened so fast the nurses were scrambling to get the cart and supplies ready for the doctor, and the doctor was en route when the baby was delivered by a resident (doctor in training) on duty. Reuben was 8 lbs 4 oz (BIG baby - at least for our standards) and was 21 inches tall. Everyone is doing great and recovery is happening very quickly. Our baby boy has already taken to breastfeeding and had his first messy diaper, so they should be ready to join us again soon!
Here's some photos taken on his first day

Summertime Fun!

Here's some random shots from our summer. Unfortunately I haven't found the 4th of July photos yet.

This is the Sassafrass look...
The girls love getting their hair done
Piggy tails and messy face to match

Lily's talent for taking pictures AND
an unsuspecting and Chinese food eating Daddy
Love this face!!!!
There was a grand reunion of the Harward Clan when the Bostonians paid us a visit. Our girls hadn't even met their newer cousins and they had never met Zoey either... They got along so well! We had to throw a joint birthday party for them... Since it was between Emmy and Lily's actual birthdays, theirs are the ones we celebrated officially together.

Don't worry, they hadn't started fighting yet
The wee ones (Zoey, Arden and Sydney)
Admiring each others' clothes
Doesn't slow down for a second around here
Nothing says birthday party better than humongous hats
Grandma Stone is teaching Zoey how to be a unicorn

Fall 2011

There should be another post (chronologically) before this one, however, since I don't have the stuff here on the computer at present, I'll have to upload it later.
Zoey learned to walk!
It was our most highlighted goal to accomplish prior to the new baby being born.

We take Halloween seriously in our little group, not as serious as we'll be able to make it once we grow up a little bit more, but this year we went all out...

We also had a birthday party close to Lily's actual birthday.
